About This Job
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a Long-term Contract engagement. This position is well suited to a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can bring structure to financial operations, strengthen reporting practices, and support a busy audit environment while day-to-day activities continue. The successful candidate will contribute deep full-cycle accounting expertise, strong reconciliation capabilities, and the ability to develop practical processes that improve consistency, accuracy, and accountability.Responsibilities:• Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, month-end tasks, and preparation of accurate financial records.• Perform detailed bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining reliable supporting schedules.• Organize audit-ready working papers and provide thorough documentation to support ongoing external audit requirements.• Review funding agreements and contracts to ensure transactions are tracked appropriately and aligned to the correct funding sources.• Build and refine accounting workflows, checklists, and standard operating procedures to create stronger internal structure and improve consistency.• Map financial data flows from external or online platforms into the accounting environment and establish practical processes for efficient reporting.• Support fund accounting activities by maintaining clear records of contract funding, receipts, and coding across programs or accounts.• Generate and analyze financial reports using QuickBooks Online and Excel to support operational and compliance needs.• Work independently in a remote setting, taking initiative to identify issues, recommend improvements, and complete priorities with minimal supervision.
