About This Job
We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join an environmental organization in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Contract basis. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys a fast-moving office environment, communicates confidently with vendors and field teams, and wants to build hands-on experience across several core accounting functions. Working on site five days a week, the successful candidate will support day-to-day financial activities for multiple entities and contribute to accurate project-based accounting in a collaborative, casual workplace.Responsibilities:• Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions, ensuring expenses are coded accurately across projects, prepaid accounts, and cost allocations.• Communicate regularly with vendors and employees in the field to resolve invoice questions, clarify charges, and maintain smooth payment activity.• Perform bank reconciliations and review account activity to identify discrepancies and support accurate month-end records.• Record and reconcile intercompany entries for several related business entities while maintaining organized supporting documentation.• Provide limited accounts receivable support, including billing administration and tracking a modest annual invoice volume.• Assist with accounting operations across multiple companies, with attention to project-specific coding for numerous active jobs.• Use Acumatica and Excel tools to prepare reports, review financial data, and support analysis through system-generated information.• Contribute to ongoing accounting process improvements and provide support during future ERP-related changes as needed.
